The Marathon water heater has earned its name! This unit is nearly indestructible. Its tough molded outer shell resists dents and scratches and its tank is warranted against leakage for as long as you own your home! The super-efficient Envirofoam^® insulation allows members to have their water heaters on the controllable off-peak system, which saves the cooperative and its members thousands of dollars in avoided power costs. 

For joining the program, members receive an 85-gallon Marathon water heater, valued at about $800, for just $330. Members who need more capacity, such as dairy operators, may purchase a 105-gallon Marathon for $380. After five years on the program, you will receive monthly credits of $8 per month on your electric bill, as long as you remain on the program. (Members who switch from gas to electric or those undergoing new construction will begin receiving the credits after just three years.) To qualify for the credits, your total household energy use for the month must be 500 kWhs or more.
