Todd-Wadena's Member Services department offers free energy analyses for members. You provide the data, such as room dimensions, number and size of windows and doors - and we print out a report showing where you might make improvements to save energy and money.

Detecting heat loss in your home is the first step to making it more energy efficient. Todd-Wadena invested in sophisticated equipment and training to help members detect home heat loss. 

   - A blower door is a powerful fan that mounts into the frame of an exterior door. The fan pulls air out of the house, lowering the air pressure inside. The higher outside air pressure then flows in through all unsealed cracks and openings.  The calibrated blower door's data allows the assessor to quantify the amount of air leakage and the effectiveness of air sealing.

   - Thermography, or infrared scanning, measures surface temperatures by using infrared video and still cameras. These tools 'see' light in the heat spectrum. Images help the assessor determine whether insulation is needed and where.
